Indigenous artists, a newcomer from Syria and others have spent the past year connecting with youth and newcomers about racism, through art.

“They can express themselves and express what they think on the subject, rather than a debate or a lecture or a talk,” said Dane Hansen, social researcher with the Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership (LIP), about the approach.

“It’s kind of a safe, more fun, open way to discuss a tricky topic like racism.”
