The Primary Care Team Psychologist will work collaborative with the other members of the Primary Care Team, and other Health Services programs, to continually assess current program delivery and services and recommend and participate in new strategies in order to facilitate changes that will enhance patient care. The Primary Care Team Psychologist is a key part of the patient care circle and should be comfortable working to their full scope of practice. The Psychologist will function in close collaboration with the physicians and interprofessional providers of the PCT and will assist in the primary care functions of the PCT. The role includes both the provision of direct patient care as well as consulting on the development of programs, resources and linkages.

Qualifications and Requirements: Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario as a Psychologist or as a Psychological Associate; evidence of professional liability insurance; three to five years counselling/therapy experience, preferably in a community setting; demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act; Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous communities; demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary health services team; experience in addictions counselling an asset; experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Hours of Work:    35 hours per week

Must have:  A satisfactory Criminal Records Search; must possess a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain one; ability to travel and work flexible hours as determined by the Service Manager or designate in relation to service delivery requirements; must posses a valid Ontario Driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle.
