Introducing Baffinland and QIA’s 2017 Scholarships

Education and training is an important part of Baffinland’s commitments to the North Baffin communities. We support and encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education and recognize the importance of learning and development as a pillar to the ongoing development of the North Baffin communities and all of Nunavut.In association with the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA), Baffinland is happy to introduce our 2017 scholarships. The scholarships are awarded on an annual basis for Nunavut Inuit who are registered with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. and pursuing a post-secondary education. The study area of scholarship recipients evolves every year to reflect the emerging needs and trends of the extractive industry in the north.For 2017, five scholarships will be awarded:

  • Adult and General Education Scholarship (Inuktitut/English)
  • Apprenticeship and Trades (Inuktitut/English)
  • Computer Information and Technology (Inuktitut/English)
  • Management Studies (Inuktitut/English)
  • Marine and Environmental Studies (Inuktitut/English)

To apply for a scholarship, review the scholarship descriptions to find which one fits your studies. Then, follow the instructions outlined in the guidelines and application document (Inuktitut/English).
