Legal aid funding cut prompts environmental concerns – Brantford Expositor

PARIS Jeff Broomfield has a scenic view from the deck of his Watts Pond Road home, just outside of Paris.

The view extends from a heavily forested area to a farm field. In the distance, he can see the Sobeys grocery store in Paris.

“Over there, beyond those trees, is a gravel pit and that farmer’s field has been sold to become a housing development,” Broomfield said. “Then there’s this green space, a wetland right behind me.

“I’m on a well system and I really wonder how this development and future developments will affect my drinking water supply.”
